dockStubz and dockXtender Cable Accessories for iPhone, iPad, iPod from CableJive (Review)

The DockXtender from CableJive (.95/.95 in two or six foot lengths) is pretty simply described as a 30-pin dock extension cable. The product extends Apple’s dock connector as a male-female cable. It can plug into any 30-pin cable to extend it or be placed between a docking accessory and an Apple device. In the example below, we connect the iPad to the Apple Keyboard Dock while using another stand for horizontal viewing. Pretty spiffy. This is CableJive’s second effort at such a cable and the company tells us the new version improves on the first. The DockXtender adds support for video signals and the connector is smaller to fit with iPhones in bulky cases. www.insanely-great.com dockStubz from CableJive is a pass-through adapter for Apple’s iPhone, iPods, and iPad. The device is basically a male-female spacer that allows users to plug their mobile device into docking stations while in case. For example, many docking systems are designed to use the devices without any protective case. If users want to dock into a charging, speaker, or keyboard dock, they will need to remove the case or use a case with a specific docking access. The dockStubz measure 1.3-inches tall and should make for a nice accessory for anyone with a docking station. The dockStubz retails for .95. www.cablejive.com

I want a cable to hook up to my Bose speaker dock. I can watch tv or movies with good sound as I fall asleep. This would work for that.

jst4tim says:

Nice I like the DockStubz I purcharsed the Sendsation dock extender but I had to remove the plastic housing for it to wark on the cases I needed it to.

what, you work for that company? You sound like…

johhnyred3g says:

Stub a great idea, but 22.00 buck is a lil steep . I probably paid 5 to 7 for it, if that’s the only function

jamabo2001 says:

You forgot to say that the dockStubz includes charge conversion to allow charging iPhone, iPad, and newer iPods on older docks. If you had an old speaker that no longer could be use to charge newer iphones or ipods this will let you charge it on that speaker.

I ordered something like the DockXtender from Hong Kong on eBay for $1.99, works fine. Love to get this one if it were at lest ten dollars.

JayEFFF says:

Can’t you just use a regular, cheap, USB extension cable? more versatile (you can extend any USB cable), less visible if you use it with USB ports on the back of devices below the desk and you won’t have these 2 ’30-pin-connector’-sized bits along your cable :/

Whoa double review what does it mean? Haha nice review(s) man
