If my iPod Shuffle finally look I shorted for a cost comparable replacement began. Philips GoGear Vibe 4GB fit the bill perfectly and with a lot more options than my old Shuffle. Ideal for travel use (bus, exercise, work, etc.) Vibe me has just enough options for me to get through the day with little to no hassle in use. Here are my thoughts on this handy little MP3 device;.

    Pros + Superb sound quality
+ Comfortable and soft rubber ear plugs
    + Excellent car FM tuner
    .
+ Perfect dimensions for on the go mp3 player. As I said in another review, it is about the size of a credit card and the depth of a Hershey bar.
    + custom equalizer.
+ Free and optional installation of Songbird software
    + Play video
    Cons
    .
    – earplugs cable could be a little longer An additional 6 “would have been better
. -. No audio recording capability, although advertised as such, it is what seems microphone hole on the top of the device, but no recording options are available .. This is . the main reason why I knocked off a star
as I would have really used this option -. Limited video format support
    – Small screen and along with that comes rather poor. Quality / resolution (expected for the price) I hope not most people just a lot of video with this player
plan -. User interface could use some tweaking, since it’s a little confusing at first.
    – Volume buttons are a bit too large for finger sunk
-. Unfortunately, the Songbird software is consistantly crashes for no reason, despite repeated software updates
. All in all, this is a good deal for a low-end MP3 player. For the price it’s hard to go wrong with this device. Is it perfect? No. Could there be improvements? Absolutely. As I mentioned, my biggest disappointment was the lack of the audio recorder. I suspect this is probably not a problem for most people, however. That said, I’m very happy with the Philips GoGear Vibe. enough to consider buying the 16GB GoGear Muse satisfaction.

review is from: SA3VBE04K/37 Philips GoGear Vibe 4 GB MP3 Player (Electronics)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine ™ Program ( What’s this? )

The specific model I am reviewing is the SA3VBE04K/37 what is important because all the documentation can I find reference to the 4GB GoGear Vibe mentions audio recording capability that this specific model can not do apparently. There is no built-in microphone, so no way to record audio EVEN THOUGH RECORDING audio is listed as a feature of this unit. The manuals I’ve found a different configuration show (microphone hole at the top) as this particular unit. If you are looking to record lectures (I was looking forward to testing the quality thereof), you can not do it. This also throws into question the abilities of the other vibes. Which are not using this function, and what? Hopefully people will be the Philips fix their documentation and advertising, and this will be no problem.
Otherwise, this is a solid, pretty standard MP3 player. As advertised, it takes about 2-3 hours to charge the built-in, non-replaceable battery. I actually prefer not replaceables because I do not want to spend all my time hunting for AAA or AA or button batteries, but you may prefer otherwise. I have it running overnight, and it still has a good charge, but that should be in every new battery. If it turns out this device battery has a short life span (less than 1 year?) I’ll add an update to this review.
The sound is solid, the interface is decent, the software is all pretty standard. At least not standard for a portable MP3 player built by a certain company that starts with an “A” In fact, my last experience with a second-generation Apple Shuffle (postage stamp sized, no monitor) and I prefer this GoGear Vibe is on the smaller Shuffle for a number of reasons. A lesser reason is the Vibe screen, which has a nice visible use menu system and very easy to control. The second is important to me: the built-in FM radio. I have no issues to vote it to the local NPR station, which I prefer to listen rather than music to stop while my 2 mile walk to my bus. Personally, this is my favorite feature.
size and weight are good, about half the size of a current target = 1.55 oz Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar and about as thick as a chocolate bar. Check the comparative size photo I uploaded for this review. It’s nice to fit in a pocket. The earphones are pretty decent for headphones in both comfort and sound quality, and I see no reason to replace it. It does not have a clip, nor does it come with a lanyard – not a deal killer, but either would be nice
the picture and audio / video display works as good as you would expect with the 1.8 -inch display. Videos must be in MJPEG format and on a 160 x 128-pixel format will be displayed. The display is easy to read and clear, but that is a small screen. Because of the memory limitations of the specific unit I’m reviewing (4 GB) I would not use it for video in any case. Images? Maybe. But we are still talking about pictures a little larger than a postage stamp (albeit a larger, commemorative U.S. postage stamp).
Read the specifications carefully and make sure you know what you get (with the caveat that the specifications could be in error, as noted at the beginning of this review). This is overall a nice little device, but nothing that is really stands out about the fact that it’s pretty much just a standard entry in the non-Apple MP3 player arena.
UPDATE 22nd May 2012 (over a year after purchase): durability is excellent. For the last year I have ever let this rattle in my car glove box and in my pocket. Works just as well as if it new about a year ago. It has some wear and tear (what you would expect) held, but physically perfect.

review refers on: Philips SA3VBE04K/37 GoGear Vibe 4 GB MP3 Player (Electronics)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine ™ Program ( What the )

Although Apple has set the standard for portable digital music with its iPod line, does not want to pay any price or use iTunes to manage music. This little GoGear Vibe is a good choice for people who want a relatively inexpensive MP3 player, which is about twice as large as the Nano but much smaller than other offers Apple. Note: I’m reviewing the 4GB version. The 8GB version does not come with voice recording but lower capacity one.
This MP3 player is exclusively for Windows-based computers because its Songbird Music Manager program does not work with Macs, although it is available a Songbird for Mac program for free download. That said, I was able to download Amazon MP3s to the device by. The way I would use a flash drive by dropping files directly on your GoGear It worked perfectly, but I could not fill it with songs from my Mac iTunes library, even if I removed the files for them. The transfer songs, but would not play, suggesting that the GoGear Songbird the file types to be compatible with the device converts. If I did. Using a Windows machine, that the version of Songbird immediately asked if I import my music from iTunes so that the GoGear can do, in fact, just did not want to use a Mac
The controls are fairly easy to use – once I found. The black-on-black dial, with little accompanying documentation made its use trial and error at first. The small screen is large enough to display an album cover, but lousy for photos and videos. Some of the other models in the GoGear line have larger screens, so if you want to display photos or videos, you might want to investigate it.
The sound is a little different than the iPod for playing the same songs by the same set of earphones. I can not say whether it was better or worse, the iPod has warmer tones, but the GoGear crisp, clean notes
The earphones are comfortable, and they remain in force .. Battery life is so-so, a region of the GoGear liked that I did not. I took it on a trip with me, and more than once I would go to listen to it, only to find the battery drained. I think I got through the long life of my iPod battery was spoiled. And 4 GB capacity is too small for those of us who carry a huge music library to want to allow an open decision on the fly. I do not like Philips assumption that Mac users will not want to use a non-Apple product for listening to music.
I’m not a fan of Songbird. Although it has some of the features of iTunes, I found the navigation as somewhat awkwardly. I have not gone all the points, but because it is, as it may be that I’m so accustomed to iTunes that I use other programs to be expected in approach, ease-of-use.
GoGear earned five stars for its value, but it falls far short of the more expensive iPod Classic and Touch. If you do not want to support Apple (and many people do not) or if you are on a budget, solid-state players want, then the 4GB GoGear Vibe is something you should consider. Otherwise, I recommend look at the higher end products in the Philips line or on Apple’s

style=”clear:both;”/> This is a well designed easy translator. It covers 95% of what you need is a tourist. The only flaw I see in this machine is not able to enter your own sentences, but that might be a bug in all machines, so I would bring a dictionary for that time. Good voice quality and volume. I will bring a number of watch batteries on the trip, since I do not know about the availability of these batteries in Europe.

I bought this translator as a gift for my mother 4 weeks tour Europe. All in all, she was very pleased with the point. Occasionally, she said there were times when she could not find how to say a word, but for the most part, she was thrilled that this one device served its very efficiently by all the countries they visited. They especially liked the oral discussion, the pre-grouped categories of phrases, its small size and its included alarm clock, it brings shorten allowed another point. As for myself, I certainly appreciate how inexpensive it is, how well it was my mother on her journey. was you absolutely better translators find but on a par with the cost per value of this translator would be difficult. It is a great item for the price.

This translator is a lot fun.You can actually hear what it is, how I can say it’s kinda sound right. The only thing
I have a problem with, it’s no way to type in any words. You can only the sentences in it are programmed. So if someone responds, I have no idea what they say. I just need a dictionary or phrase book with you. I’m about to use it in my travels .. in Japan this year and in Europe The next year, happy fun

This review is from: Andrea Electronics USB Headset (NC-181VM) (Personal Computers)

I use this headset mainly for voice recognition with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, the accuracy is pretty good. and when a text is only spoken, it works really well. This would be 5 stars. The problem with this headset is that it sounds such as typing noise and breath sounds (unfortunately) captured very well. This causes Dragon NaturallySpeaking (version 11), this sounds as if I’m talking about entering text and typing certain words’m in between (because I words that use DNS do not know – I’m a programmer)., and when I breathe normally, DNA is constantly working, when I’m typing or breahing and often regognizes words like “in” from the desk or my breathing. Even if DNS is not recognized word, the cursor is often set to the mouse. This makes working with this headset almost impossible for me if I give during the letter or if I breath too loud for the microphone have. This is two stars less.
What’s strange is that the ambient noise filters with the Andrea Audio Commander obviously not very well. confirms Andrea support that filter does not go well with DNS and I should turn it off. Wat is the point if you filter that I can not use?

I use this for Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.5 on a Dell laptop, you worked pretty. well, when I first heard about it, but sometimes the other sounds in the room are (breathing, typing, dog walking, etc.) would mess with the quality. But then I went to the Andrea website downloaded and free Andrea Audio Command Center, has an updated driver and improved noise reduction. now this headset works perfectly with Dragon, and blocked everything, but my voice. My only complaint, but not worthy of a few stars, is that the mute switch should be a clip on . they have, so I did, my clothes clip, as it sometimes flops around

The USB headset really improves the accuracy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking dictation software, I have several. Tested headset for dictation. I have played reading the same paragraph. I have the earlier version of USB NC-7100, the much heavier wire between the headset and the computer has. In my experience, the wire is the first point of failure in one headset . it is noisy when you move and accuracy goes down.
The wire for the 181 is heavier than most headsets. I have no problems with it and have used it for 6 months. sound quality when playing dictations and recognition accuracy is very good in Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10th
This is a good headset. I use it daily for Dragon NaturallySpeaking dictation. I hang it between uses to keep the wires out of the ground.
