I have an older 2007 black macbook (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM) and my early 2011 Macbook Pro (2.0Ghz quad intel i7, 8GB RAM), and this power supply could run away with both the battery and it was able to charge it while using the computer, and when turned off. Best bang for your buck with this charger!

    UPDATE, READ THIS!
2/16/12 So I was charging my MacBook Pro when I smelled burning plastic . I look and see that the charger melted and burnt my carpet, I’m happy, I was awake and not charging my MBP night otherwise have burned my house maybe. I take back everything I’ve said before, do not buy , this

I’m not sure if that was a bad or I was not, but it’s already hard warped from overheating. clogged night once I had it, to charge the battery, which could have caused this. However, the computer is not in use or even during this time. and I had my original Apple adapter for about 3 years never had a problem making it addictive for some time I will send it back to the company and re-evaluate this review pending their response

This is my first Mac computer My first four computers ran Win 3.1, Windows 95, XP and Vista (from about 1995-present). I have spent a lot of time on each of them. Switching from Windows to Mac is not difficult, but it can be a bit frustrating for a week or so. There Windows functions, you are missing, but they are mostly overcome by overall advantages in my opinion.
I have two weeks now with this machine. If I had written this report for a day, I would have probably told you that I regretted the switch to Mac. practiced by increasing the use of the machine and see how well it works, I would definitely recommend.
This review is a mix of my impressions of both the hardware and the Mac operating system to be a new Mac system from user perspective.
The only difference between my machine and the product is on this page that I ordered directly from Apple and upgraded the hard drive 250GB (from the 160GB base option). I’m with 2 GB of RAM and the low-end processor Mac OS
    My impressions:..
The biggest thing I missed was the first Windows Taskbar Mac uses the “dock” to replace the taskbar. The dock is a bit like the Quick Launch bar in Windows over the entire spread bar, with large icons. Having window used with a task bar for the past 13 years, I missed the opportunity to open all watch programs and switch between them using the taskbar. The dock has a tiny dot below the icon on running-programs, but nothing else, in order to separate it from other program and folder icons. The dock is not nearly so useful for multitasking as the task bar.
The saving grace that rescues the Mac from awkward app-switching while multitasking is called expose. Expose is activated by either pressing a key or using a multitouch gesture (four-finger swipe) . Expose uses the entire screen to display all open windows and you can switch between them. It’s like alt + tab on steroids. Having used the machine for a few weeks, I miss using expose when I use my Windows machine . As much as I hated the dock there first, I have the advantage that the Mac give for managing multiple windows while multitasking
. Controls for open windows are very different than in MS-Windows. On Mac it a resize, hide, and minimize button instead of maximize, restore, minimize and close. To close an application on the Mac, you must use a menu command or keyboard shortcut. The Mac resize button kind of works like restore / maximize, only it is a bit more complicated. A commenter here pointed out that it scales the window for optimal viewing without the entire screen. I find myself resizing windows by dragging corners more than I ever seen on a Windows machine. I really miss the ability maximizing if for no other reason but to avoid distractions. the green resize button may be better on a huge screen, but not on a 13 “notebook. If you minimize or hide an app on the Mac, it is only from the dock and is hidden from expose. I give the window size-management advantage of Windows in this competition. The windows system is just easier and more logical in my opinion. It’s not a deal-breaker, but I miss the Windows “window controls.” If you are a frequent user of the F11 key while web browsing in Windows you have to kiss goodbye to this function. Neither Firefox nor Safari will go full screen.
Windows Explorer “replaced” with an app called Finder. Finder way the Start menu and an explorer window all rolled into one. Compared to older versions of Windows finder is adequate but Vista Explorer is to use a little bit easier and more logical. I prefer Vista preview pane to Mac’s coverflow. I miss the “up folder” button. I have. Especially with the view that files, folders and applications up in a column view for easiest computer browsing, and it’s just not as elegant as Windows Vista Caused the lack of a maximize button has, frustration especially in the finder, because the finder to stay happy in a very small window when you drag the corners.
The Safari web browser is nice and quick and has a good reputation for safety. I was switching back and forth between Safari and Firefox. Firefox has crashed a few times and I like to use to be able to multi-touch gestures with Safari, so that I can help ensure that Safari leaning my main web tool. Read RSS feeds, and the bookmark toolbar are really well done in Safari. Browsers are so personal that it’s difficult to recommend one over the other, but as a Firefox user in Windows I think I’ve met or exceeded high standards and Safari.

I hate the iPhoto app. Iphoto does not allow you to organize and browse your photos in folders. It imports your pictures and sorts them on time / date stamp on the photos. This works fine for personal vacation … Read more

Well, I must say I am very glad that I do not buy apple first iteration of the 13 “MacBook last year b / c they really do everything right the second time to upgrade to a MacBook Pro! It’s nice to have that “per” stamp on a 13 “now Apple has listened to their customers adding almost everything we needed and more, and was able to lower the price! Thanks Apple
    CHANGES
    from last year – $ 100 less
    – 13 “aluminum macbooks became macbook pros
    – 2.53 GHz from 2.4 GHz dual-core
    – 4GB RAM from 2GB
    – LED display offers 60% wider color gamut than the previous
    – new advanced built-in battery that lasts up to 7 hours vs 4hrs
    – FireWire is back (first, after all the complaints model)
    – SD card slot
(replaces ExpressCard slot) – new models now come with iLife ’09
    – separate digital audio input
    – new model uses the same integrated mic and headphone port as the iPhone

PROS – finally a price with a performance upgrade cut I knew apple could do it, I was tired of paying for aesthetics .. and not
performance – new Snow Leopard operating system comes pre-installed with the same great user experience much faster performance
    – much better lcd screen inline with the pro models … still glossy and still some glare but much! beautiful
    – backlight keyboard on all 13 “models now! (I really enjoy how it can be controlled from low to high)
    – battery life is much better than last year (I get about 6 hours w / regular use not 7hrs that is reported)
. – The computer is really a looker
beautifully designed -. iLife 09 suite is ideal for photos, movies and music. Really good software hardware sale
-. SD card slot accepts SDHC, which goes up to 32GB and works like a charm. (Can of SD card and boot)

CONS – aluminum outer casing does dent easily if dropped.
(Buy a soft case for it!) – Power cord is short and does not reach as many places as I would like … must sit very close socket
-. Battery can not be removed easily
    – SD card sticks about halfway out of the slot. . Eye sore
    – blu-ray option would have been nice, but of course have given royalties. (Many BluRays digital copies that will help provide)
Considering all the great improvements over the previous year with a good price, I cut can now truly recommend this near perfect Macbook Pro!

There are many plus points first is the aluminum unibody design both beautiful and practical. Precise engineering gives the entire unit a solid feel. aluminum and glass will not wear out like the plastic on many other laptops. This matte silver with black buttons looks classy as well.
finger slide easily over the . large, glass trackpad The trackpad acts as a mouse button – it takes a little pressure on him then other trackpad I’ve used often register a click just about my finger down -. MacBook Pro trackpad offers physical feedback that mis this Clicks reduced
multiple finger gestures make it a breeze to navigate documents and Web pages presses two fingers instead of one leads the equivalent of a right click swipe with 2 fingers to scroll the current window spreading fingers apart zooms….; Pinching zooms (like the iPhone). Swiping four fingers makes the desktop or switch between applications. These gestures are intuitive and it’s hard to go back to the Windows laptop after getting used to their convenience (I’m really on the 2-Finger hooked-scrolling).
The keyboard automatically lights up as the room lights dimmed. This is not an essential feature (especially for touch typists), but is helpful for picking the right function keys after dark. Little is . touches like this that use the MacBook Pro a pleasure
Apple put a lot of thought into the design of their energy supply, it has a special connector that attaches magnetically main part -. it connects easily and will not cause you your laptop crashing to the ground, stumble if you can. The plug even has a light that it is connected and charging (turn green when the battery reaches 100%) shows. A little plastic clip on the cord helps administration length of his. When traveling, extension cable with a retractable connector, which can be substituted directly into an outlet, so there’s less to carry. U.S. plug into the MacBook Pro included, but you can order plugs for other countries .
solid, keyboard with backlight and MagSafe power adapter design flourishes are nice, but the important feature is the long battery life.

The internal battery can be up to 7 hours between charges, so you almost a full day of work can get from it. The downside is that the battery can not be swapped out easily when it becomes low or reaches its end-of-life. Apple says take enables its intelligent charging process up to 1000 charge cycles and batteries for up to 5 years. Inability could swap in a fresh battery, a problem for people who take long intercontinental flights, although it may keep a HyperMac external battery is a 13 ” MacBook Pro with up to 33 hours.
MacBook Pro LED-backlit display offers a wide color gamut (Apple says it’s a 60% improvement over the MacBook) This is the big plus for art and photography applications Many people complain the glossy display is difficult to use outdoors – .. I like to work his sharpness and especially the indoor lighting. However, I can see how this might annoy some users.
Apple has a FireWire 800 port, and support for additional up to 8 GB of RAM. Currently the cost of a full 8GB memory is expensive, but 4GB is quite reasonable. Eventually memory prices should drop and the MacBook Pro can be upgraded cheaply to its full potential. Support for more RAM is a welcome feature, as we enter the age of 64-bit operating systems. If you have Photoshop, video editing, or Windows in the background, you could additional memory (the manual describes how to upgrade the memory itself) to consider.
MacBook Pro a reasonable value for the money, but cheaper laptops is certainly available. Since Macs are Intel-based I’ll leave it to others to argue the merits of an operating system over the other., They can still be used to run Windows applications are running, either through Apple’s Boot Camp or a virtual machine software such as Parallels or Fusion (or Sun’s free VirtualBox). The Mac operating system, OS X is easy to use, so that Windows users do not need to make a change.
The new Macs now ship with Snow Leopard, the latest version of Mac OS X operating system. If the 13 “MacBook Pro was purchased with Leopard, Snow Leopard, you can upgrade for $ 9.95 via Apple’s Up-to-date program (be sure to check out within 90 days of purchase).
