If you buy something like a hard drive enclosure from a second-tier manufacturer for such a low price, there are certain expectations: shoddy workmanship, poorly translated manual, baffling packaging, poor design, etc. I confess I had those expectations be, but I did not expect that it does not matter – I wanted this case to be used once, to my Macbook clone current drive to a new (higher capacity) drive before you install it
however. Case I received could not help but I had expected. It was very nice in a box with a small manual (with pictures and clear English), a carrying case, USB cable, mounting screws, a screwdriver and even packed! As other reviews have mentioned, the included cable is a Y-cable to a high-speed drive to draw power from two USB ports if necessary. This is the kind of thoughtful packaging you expect from high-end consumer electronics, not a cheap one-time-use drive enclosure. The case itself is made of solid aluminum and just barely bigger than the 2.5 “drives for which it was designed, it has a sleek, simple design and flawless execution -. Is there any to bend it at all and not a single rough edge
<. br /> (After (easily) installing the drive inside the case, there is no feeling of bending and shaking the device gently produces no noise or sensation of movement. Everything seems very snug and secure, there is a padded foam cushions help within an end to the case by this).
When I it is turned on, loaded the trip easily. There was a little noise and vibration, but much less than one would expect from (for example) a hard disk expect fans in a PC case. Housing was lukewarm over time, but not hot, that I did as a sign that the aluminum was conducting heat as desired.
All in all, I could ‘t be happier can with this case, especially considering the low price I can not remember the last time I was so pleasantly surprised by an electronics purchase

Also included was a little screwdriver, 4 screws to secure the drive and save a beautiful vinyl bag around the case in. The included USB cable uses a Y-end adapter (2 USB-A connectors compared to the mini-USB connector), this is so that the drive can additional energy from the device you are connecting it to draw. I have. Currently with one of the USB connector, and it works well on my laptop
a problem to deal with, the fact that this case was meant for something “higher” 2.5-inch disk drives work, so normal drives will not fit so sure. You can hear the drive rattling inside when you shake it. This is achieved by simply folding a piece of paper and wedged it resolved in the small space between the drive and the enclosure. This will not affect performance or damage the drive at all, and will completely fix that (small) problem. Overall, a fantastic

    housing, especially for the price.

Let me first explain why I needed this product. I had a 3 year old laptop that no longer worked and was out of warranty, so I went and got a repair estimate for the laptop which have to be much higher than I had expected. I decided to part it out, but kept the hard drive because it was fully functional and had a lot of space that would be ideal as a portable USB hard drive. I do not have your own portable hard drives are always as always great to transfer DVD movie files. I was looking around for a high-quality aluminum housing, which would not break the bank, where this comes in. Vantec
When searching for a case for the hard drive, I decided to go with Vantec, because they have a reputation for external enclosures. I own one of their DVD drive enclosure and are very happy with him. I used it as a portable DVD burner. When I was looking for a hard drive enclosure I wanted was something simple but of good quality and low cost so I ended up perfectly with this Vantec model that fit the bill.
This model is simple .. very simple. It has a single green power / activity LED and a mini-USB jack. The exterior design is very beautiful and the case itself is made of aluminum, so cool the hard drive in it helps. The case comes with a USB Y cable, which has two full size USB ports has, but for my use I needed a just for connection. If you’re a power-hungry high speed HDD, then you may need to use two USB ports to power it. Assembly was just as easy with just two screws. A small screwdriver is also included.
One thing to note is that my HDD light inside the box rattled. It was not a deal breaker, but I did not like the rattle so I came up with a simple fix by sticking 4 very thin double-sided piece of tape on the 4 corners of the HD inside the case. This cured the rattle. Band I was about 1 – 1.5 mm thick and I peeled only one side of the tape, to stick it on the HD. I left the other side is covered, so that it would not stick to the inside of the high-housing.
After assembly I plugged it into my computer and started transmission over 75GBs of data without problems. The HD was very cool and the transfer was very fast. All in all I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for something that is simple, low cost, stylish, of good quality and performance.

This purple case is very slightly and very soft to the touch. It even includes a transparent keyboard cover, but since I already have a purple, I have not given it too much use. The reason why I can not give it 5 stars, that it spots in which the goal of the coating is not very even. It’s not too flashy, but I think that others acquire us on this cover, you should know in advance. Overall, I think it was a good buy. It affordable and looks really nice
