TE100-MFP1 works great on Windows XP, and we had a install lot of experience with different models mfr under Win XP. way also. The reason we purchased this product is that we needed a device that works with Win7, the future we look forward to testing under Win7 (a . forthcoming review …)
“MrLuckey” was not so lucky – he must not have been aware that the product allows “auto-connect” feature of the printer is always available when needed has to have this. restore function minimizes the need for connection / cycle and the resulting Windows “beep”, which are by-the-way, modified or eliminated separate (in Win XP) under “sounds and audio devices” – “. Connect device “Maybe the problems he had encountered, did not work with the way his driver for his particular printer.

Link up and down, it was not finished, as I wanted to print every time it went up or down, there was a beep, which was annoying

I this unit bought a desktop computer that I do not want to replace all the time because of the power it can draw trend. I was also interested in the RAID functions, since I recently had some drive problems with my desktop. was difficult before the time how much power it draws.
Find If you plan to use RAID mirroring, do it out of the box (It says so in the manual). The user interface is fine and I have no problems with the setup. The desktop application (not required for general use) was a little doggy, but I do not use it much. The desktop UI provides backup functions I might explore at some point
. I use the device primarily with network shares and like the fact that you can create multiple users, each with their own shares.

The unit draws approximately 17 watts at idle.
It is not a quiet as I hoped, the power supply fan running all the time. I’m going to have to move the unit to another location, because my office is quiet other than the .
Overall I am happy with the device, and have it running just dinged a star for the power supply noise. It seems to me that they are able to use passive cooling, so there was only the noise of the wheels . (like other USB drives I have) be

, I purchased the 4TB unit in February and had it for about a month
. Product should probably get 5 stars because it is easy to install and use, as described. I am (mirrored 2TB) with Raid1 and counting on the server is a primary backup for our home computer and a remote access for our family away from home. Internal drives are Hitachi, made in 2009, half as the Hitachi warranty was over, when they were received. My Ditto has only a 1 year warranty, which I briefly consider.
myDitto currently working well and my son in the family uses it from MKE as well.
There are some short come give me this instead of 4 * 5 *, caused
1 The device is shipped with a Quick Start Guide and you need to download the manual from the website. […] And the manual is the only to explain place to administrative functions. It is also incomplete.
2 Technical support is very weak.’s support site is not working, because I waited 3 days no reply to questions. You will be able to . to get a slow e-mail response to questions contact support url above There is no support phone number or address, but I get this:
DANE-ELEC USA 15770 Laguna Canyon Road
    , # 100 Irvine
    ,
    California 92618 USA Phone: (877) 428 2363 (inside the U.S.) | Tel: +1949450 2970

3 Do not use the Master Key on your first use of myDitto with a different identification as “admin.” I did it, and the unit will create a user account, which she paired invalid with the Master Key to its use for administrative functions. support After several weeks, finally email that I needed to create a new Master Key on a virgin USB flash drive. These keys get coupled with an ID and can not be changed to a new ID (I have not tried reformatting a key). ‘ br /> 4 admin functions are limited. example, you can not use space to be limited by the user.
5 I have some Raid mistakes I did with the fixed Raid Fix button in advanced services. But I could not see the button, fix once and e-mails not allowed until I cold boot the server. This device is more than a week solid.
6th I’m using XP SP3 and only one Windows Backup to the public folder. I’d rather be on my private ID folder, but do not have a solution for that yet.
Despite all this, I like the myDitto unit. It is a good value at the Amazon price. But I have not no 100% confidence in him. Only time will tell.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine ™ Program ( What’s this? )

In the last few years I have. using an HP Media Vault NAS for home use It was nothing but trouble from day one, rather like that when I had the opportunity this Ditto I was very excited tryout. All in all, Ditto has not disappointed.
It is much faster than my old Media Vault and a whopping 1TB holds quite a bit more as well.
device was a breeze if the instructions contained useless. A quick visit to Ditto website gave me the full instructions which was very helpful. I copied my files from my HP to Ditto and now use it for all my home computer. The thing is very fast for home use!
I thought the USB keys are a nice touch. I was able to test this feature and thought it worked well. Now I can access my home files easily when away from home. It is very safe as well. Everything in
all very happy with this device. It is a nice compact size that will not take up much space.
a “negative”, I think, is that it is quite noisy, especially when the hard drive is removed swirling, but this is. more of a nuisance than anything else
UPDATE – 06/13/2011 – wish I could be there six stars! I recently bought an iphone and found that I write a “myDitto” app on the phone that my data on the Ditto from anywhere can access my phone Download Wow! Now I can view pictures, stream music, all from anywhere right on my phone. This is a pretty great little home NAS!
