so far I’ve used Linksys home routers for more than a decade and this is by far the best in every respect. I did not bother with their fancy new guided configuration software as I’m an experienced user. (I suspect that inexperienced users about potentially almost by the nifty new setup software, which transports the desired configuration to each new computer a USB stick, as they were intimidated by the older setup procedure, but that’s another story), but I swear that the manual configuration took no longer than the shrink wrap from the box and release the twisty-ties. – reset the admin password, enter the SSID a name, select a security type and a network password That’s it -. all other factory sets are exactly what you need and expect it would Total time for. manual setup once the shrink wrap was off – perhaps 3 minutes at most, and most of that spent crawling under the desk to plug in. When I used the same SSID and network password as the old Linksys box I was replacing, all the machines actually returned the new network and router itself (and switched from G to N protocol) as soon as I entered the network password into the router control panel, without demand. Finally, the new packaging, even if it is not really so much of, is nothing short of breathtaking, if you stared at the funny blue box on 4 legs with both ears antennas are used to, suddenly into the 21st century with this new box -. want everyone knows Linksys products as if it fine the jewlery touch it must be only 20% of the volume of the old box A real triumph of industrial design, quite apart from the hardware and software

certified as “Senior” A, which has never before dealt with a router, I had absolutely no problem setting up and connected always. My 6 year old desktop is not wireless. My goal was to get a new laptop up and running through the router. By simply inserting the CD, I followed the instructions without difficulty. I have. Memory Stick with data already stored on it, and then connect to my laptop In less than 15 minutes on both computers were working and. The laptop is much faster than my desktop, so I’m so excited! (I live in a two story home and have had no problems connecting from anywhere in the house, I have not tried, under the laptop outdoors, but I doubt I ever will) is not
Hopefully my satisfaction and short-lived the router to me is a few good years.

I would not recommend this router … or maybe its just the technical support. I was on the phone for the better part of the weekend with Comcast and Linksys. The router worked fine for a few months to act before they started. I called Comcast first, could not find anything wrong and I even switched the modem to eliminate that as a problem. I have. On with Linksys and they told me they would help, although she was 90 outside the window I had reset the router to factory settings and confirmed it was a DNS address. After about an hour, we are able to able to go to the router.
Two hours later stopped working wifi, but worked directly wired correctly. I tried to recycle the router and called Linksys, if that did not work … after verification that it had DNS to the modem was fine. The person I spoke to was also less than sympathetic and was more. With selling additional service fee of $ 40 for a $ 65 router, which is covered under warranty He was doing some troubleshooting of my computer, which is a computer at work, and it is well locked Changes …. I told him, and he is still trying to change the settings without success. In this environment, I had to fix 3 Notebooks (2 with XP and a Mac), 2 ipads and iphones with 2. The laptops could make the network and sometimes would not work if wired, the iPad could connect, but it took 20 minutes to download a page!
The tech recommended optimization of computer and working with the computer manufacturer. I pointed out that I had three different types of computers and it would make no sense to work with each vendor to optimize them if the problems seems to be the router. He recommended that a software engineer speaks for a fee. He then said I could to the latest firmware, which I asked him which version is the update … He said it was online. So while on the phone with him, I saw that I had the latest version. Finally, he recommended the restoration to factory defaults reset, which could damage the device …. does that make sense? Well, it turns out, this may be the only thing he was right, as if I reset to factory settings, it would not be talked out can be the set up! I have again the modem and it works fine. So this one hour on the weekend was wasted in a holiday home. So tell me, what’s the point of a 1 year warranty, if it means anything? At this point I do not see a reason to get another Linksys product when I one that will not work now have …. again and still under warranty!
