Especially if you are considering upgrading your 859 to this model are:
    – The eSATA port on the 859 does not exist on the 869th The USB 3.0 port has its place, but is USB 3.0 support (at this moment) does not work quite as well in the current firmware version
-. The higher clock frequency of the CPU 869 makes the NAS a little more responsive, though, but I’m not sure if it would be worth the upgrade
-. The ability to install up to 3Gb of RAM is nice, but I still have the advantage that they
see. As with all QNAP NAS devices, this is a great NAS and offers a boat load of features I
WD Green drives (lower speed, less heat and less power consumption) used -. be aware though that I used EZRX model ( Western Digital Caviar Green 3 TB SATA III 64 MB Cache Bare / OEM Desktop Hard Drive – WD30EZRX ), and not problematic EARS hard drives ! The advantage is that your NAS is running cooler, very quiet, and you will not really a performance hit (vs. 7200 RPM drives).
My NAS is pretty much next to my desk and I really pay attention to it, to be heard.
I know this sounds expensive NAS, at least I think about it for a while, because it seems to have had a lot of money, but I do not have a single moment of regret. I love this QNAP also
;!, If you look at a QNAP, please choose an Intel-based model, skip the ARM models since many QPKG packages (free enhancements) lacks an ARM version (or it takes a while before it is available).
